When it all began...
This is early 2020, approximately March, we are currently staying in Milan, Italy. A weekend where the world is about to change completely a few hours later, without really knowing what is going to happen, and yet, the city will be the first point of entry of covid-19 in Europe that we will barely leave the next day before the country is under full lockdown.
Once back home safely, we remember our trip to this city considered the heart of fashion and style in the world, where the outer language of dress speaks louder and takes precedence over any other appearance, where fashion codes have no limits.
During this short trip, we noticed something we had come to look for, while sipping a delicious cocktail, in front of the main fascinating square of the city, called "Piazza del Duomo" where everyone stands there to take pictures and have a good times.
...Until it all changes
Eventually, we quickly came to the following conclusion of our survey : Every watch owner wears and considers his watch as an accessory to his clothing style and not as a real functional object. Even to check the time, 99% of them look at their cell phone rather than their watch worn on their wrist although it is its main function. The same applies to those wearing luxury watches without knowing what type of movement, or any key technical feature they have inside their timepiece, using it only as an accessory to style or change their outfit rather than for their actual functionality.
We brought this conclusion in our luggage when we left the city, with many ideas in the back of our minds, it was the trigger for the creation of our brand.
One of us is a brilliant Swiss automotive engineer and the second is a French mechanical expert involved, when we decided to create our brand with a mix of our skills: Wheels and mechanics. 2 years later, ELYR WATCHES is born in 2022, after 2 years of hard work but always with one and the same value, to bring to watch amateurs what they are looking for, exceptional shapes and designs with premium quality, beautiful colors, robustness, and nevertheless significant functionalities via the movements. All this, at a respectable price.
